Yes, actually I do. The patriot act is used for locating terrorists and keeping the homeland safe. We got bought out by the Scottish masons and some other wealthy investors during the 'American revolution', we got bought out by someone during the civil war, and then we were all numbered and sold in the 'industrial revolution'. 'Free trade', 'open markets' and such are basically taking money out of the hands of Americans and putting it in the hands of other oppressive regimes, so that a few people on top can net a little more each year. Our so-called president and his office spit out propaganda like the al Qaeda training manual, about all kinds of things that are meant to scare the hell out of people, and they do. What are we, a nation of pussies? Are we so weak that we will each hide beneath the skirts of a mother who pisses on us constantly? Originally, there was to be no tax. Then, there was to be a flat-tax. Now, the poor people pay the rich people's taxes. It was originally intended that people should be allowed to form militias, to bear weapons so that in the event that our federal government became too powerful and went crazy or became corrupt or defunct, we could defend ourselves. SO many things that we take for granted as being part of our 'freedom', along with many things that some just can't understand are being slowly sucked of the things that make them what they are. What is left is a shell that LOOKS like the original, but it is hollowed out and weak. I agree, the information in these manuals is quite shocking. Did you happen to read where they came from? May as well said, 'these were found on a Turkish prostitute who said 'fuck the police'' - - . - Our department of justice is a fucking joke, if you disagree then you are wiser than me, or a fucking idiot. Our 'homeland protection agency' or whatever has arrested more non-violent drug offenders than it has 'terrorists'; already, Nancy Regan’s 'war on drugs' has it so that something like 50-60% of prison space is occupied by non-violent drug offenders. Gay people are not allowed to be married because it is 'not natural' (and because the fucking insurance companies had a fit). This was supposed to be the 'land of the free, home of the brave' - where you could go if you wanted to do your own thing (without hurting others, of course). It's amusing to read the ravings of these ditto heads condemning a movie they haven't even seen. The language used resembles the fascist ideology used by the Nazi's to take power in Germany. Read your history, while we still have books. Look up the facts, while we still have access to them. The Saudi's do own the Bush Family. All Michael Moore has done is compile information that has been around for years, it's nothing new. All these ditto heads do is listen to 10 second sound bites from Rush, O'Reilly, and Hannity, and take those as facts and not do the research, which is the right of every ditto head. Let's talk gay marriage. Marriage is a legal contract between two consenting adults. Marriage is not a religious institution, it is a legal institution. There should be no distinctions drawn between the gender of the persons getting married and the argument that people will start marrying animals is absurd and certainly not a logical inference.

Secondly, persons enter into marriage for a variety of reasons. Marriage allows a couple to reap estate and income tax benefits that only a spouse is entitled to. Marriage allows a family unit to legally exist. Marriage allows two persons to enter into a legally recognized Union thereby entitling the partners to all of the same benefits/treatment that heterosexual couples are entitled to.

I am tired of the argument that gay marriage will destroy the sanctity of marriage in the U.S. We have already done that. Our divorce rate is 50%. The infidelity rate is 40%. People don't take marriage seriously in the first place, let gays be just as miserable as the rest of us in marriage.

George W. Bush wants your vote. He wants it so badly that he is willing to put the educations of the children of America at risk in order to impress you with his concern for their education. He also wants the votes and money of the super-wealthy, so he will help them save more money in one year than the average American makes in two. He also wants the votes and money of people who stand to gain by damaging and destroying our environment, so he is willing to pass laws allowing them to do so. Today, I am going to focus on these three things: education, taxes, and environment. There are many reasons to remove Bush from the White House. I chose these specific reasons because I believe that they are symptomatic of his decision and policy making, and because they are not as well-know as some of his more spectacular mistakes.
To the president’s credit, I will admit that he and his administration have done some good things. No one was excluded from the tax cuts, and I think that it’s possible that they had good intentions in reforming the education system. I have stopped short of calling the president a liar, and a sneak. However, there is an overwhelming body of evidence that does just that, available to anyone who cares to research it. The purpose of this speech is to inform you of a few of his questionable actions. Hopefully, this speech will contribute to your deciding to vote against Bush. If it does not, I hope that it at least inspires you to do some research of your own before voting this man back into office.
The Citizens for Tax Justice and the Children’s Defense Fund did a study on the tax cuts that President Bush has put into effect. It is from this study that I got the following information. It is true that these tax cuts give money back to everyone in the United States; It is likely that you have already saved money because of them. For the next 6 years, all Americans will continue to have lower taxes than they did before President Bush came into office. In 2001, the top 1% most wealthy Americans received 7.3% of our nation’s tax cut. It is strange that the richest people get a disproportionately large cut, but not surprising. What I find surprising is that, by the year 2010, the top 1% will be receiving 51.8% of our tax cuts. During the course of the Bush tax cut plans, 99% of our country will experience a 44% cut in our tax cuts, so that the top 1% can save an extra 82 thousand dollars a year. To put this in perspective: in 2001, the top 1% saved an average of about $3,000 in taxes, which is more than the other 99% saved, combined. In 2010, the top 1% will save an average of about $85,000, while the other 99% will save about $6,000. I realize that in portraying this as a bad thing, I am advocating a flat tax, which our country has not had for quite some time. Do you really think it is fair that the richest people pay a smaller percentage of their money to taxes than the other 99% of us?
Included in these statistics is the Estate Tax, or Death Tax. You may have heard of this tax before. If so, it is likely that you’ve heard a slanted description of it. Those who stand to loose fund negative advertisements portraying the estate tax as a simple tax that is applied to everyone who dies. They strike fear into the hearts of family-run business owners, and people who hope to leave something for their loved ones when they pass. In this way, they have rallied a good number of easily fooled people to protect their wealth. I remember hearing commercials that said things like, ‘it is not right to tax someone for dying’, or ‘why should those people who inherit their family’s wealth have to pay more taxes on it’. In truth, only 2% of the United States is affected by this tax. Specifically, this tax applies only to estates worth more than one million dollars. Bush’s tax cuts phase the estate tax out by the year 2010. Currently, it is set to be reinstated once the tax plan has ended in 2010, but there is a well-funded movement to permanently abolish this tax.. I can understand why America’s super-wealthy would want to keep Bush in office, but I don’t think that the rest of us should be very impressed with his tax cuts. The administration has made it out to sound like they have given the all of the American people a lot of money back. They have given a lot of money back, but a disproportionate amount of it is going right back to the rich.
The National Resource Defense Council has an excellent, well-documented collection of things that Bush has and his administration have done that have serious, negative impacts on our environment. I used their website to find more information about these things. George Bush claims to be a friend to the environment. Since just 2001, he has bent or broken many rules that were intended to protect our environment, and passed new laws supporting disregard for our environment. I am only looking at his Presidential career, but rest assured that this is a pattern that can be traced back through his governorship of Texas and even further. Many of the companies that stand to gain from these laws are some of the biggest monetary contributors to the Bush cause. For example, since 1999, Bush has received at least 6 million dollars in donations from energy companies alone. When Bush came into office, a new standard for the amount of arsenic in drinking water had just been set, after 40 years or so. The mining industry lost money because of this standard; they had to limit their contamination of water supplies. The mining industry was also one of the larger contributors to Bush’s campaign. Oddly enough, one of the things that he did during his first year in office was to remove the new standards for arsenic in our drinking water, claiming that there is not enough evidence to convince him that arsenic causes cancer.
Many large companies are benefiting from relaxed or abolished laws governing their impact on the environment, while blissfully polluting the world we live in. Our national forests are being plundered for lumber now that Bush has passed legislature that he presents to the American people as being designed to control forest fires. A unique ecosystem in Alaska stands to be destroyed permanently for the sake of five year’s worth of oil, if Bush gets his way. The current administration is trying to remove government imposed standards for nuclear weapons research and development plants, leaving the standards to be set by contractors who build the plants. The list of crimes that our president has committed against our environment and our safety is quite long. There are a surprising number of industries, known for their monetary support to Bush that are reaping the benefits of his mistakes. The current administration seems to be concerned with profit over people and environment. If you only read their public statements, you may not believe this. However, if you do a little bit of research into exactly what sort of things our President has been up to since he has been in office, you may come to realize that he is not interested in protecting our environment. He seems to be much more interested in getting votes and getting kickbacks from big businesses.
No Child Left Behind. It sounds great, doesn’t it? Though it is true that Bush increased spending on education by 49% during his reign, he is responsible for No Child Left Behind. If you hear the administration’s description of it, this is a great boon to the education system. It creates standards that are supposed to make every child learn. In reality, they are experimenting on children. No Child Left Behind is a federal reform to change the way that children are educated across the country. It is untested, was put into effect too quickly to work properly, and is structured to damage the education system in America. While Bush has increased the education budget, it must be kept in mind that many state economies went even further downhill when he got into office. Most states have record deficits; many have already cut funding to public schools by so much that the new money is just a drop in the bucket. The average school is going to end up with even less money because of this policy.
When No Child Left Behind was put into effect, schools were judged by the new rules without being given time or resources to fit the criteria for increased funding. Under this act, schools are given special funding if they get above a certain score. The scores that schools receive are based on the scores of their students. The scores that students receive are based on raw reading and math scores. In order to fit the criteria, many less well funded schools will be focusing mainly on math and reading, in order to get funding. It does not matter if the students know why we fought the civil war, or where Canada is so long as they pass the math and reading tests. There is no gray area, or scale with which they are judged; either they pass or fail. If a school fails, they do not get as much funding. If a student fails three years in a row, their parents can move them to another school. The school that they move to will have to accept the student, even if they are already overpopulated and they will not get any extra funding for the new student. Teachers who have been at their profession for a long time may be required to stop teaching, go back to college and jump through a certain number of hoops before they will be considered ‘highly qualified’, and allowed to teach again.
No Child Left Behind does not only affect primary education. The money that Bush gives to primary and secondary education, he is trying to take from higher education funding, such as Perkins Grants, which provided $1.19 billion dollars to higher education in 2003. State and Community Colleges will also experience state budget cuts due to so much money being diverted to pass the primary and secondary school tests. With so many states already in debt, No Child Left Behind leaves them with even less money to fund higher education. It may be more adequate to call this plan, ‘Most of the children of those who are not rich left behind’. I don’t know, he may even believe that this policy will help educate America’s youth. Many people, including myself think that it was a poorly constructed plan put into action to get more votes. Flowery speech may hide the real workings of this plan, but only time will tell if our president made yet another mistake at the expense of American citizens.
Everyone makes mistakes and bad decisions from time to time. Our president seems to make bad decisions for the sake of money and votes. I do not have the time to cover more of the many mistakes that he has made as commander in chief, but rest assured, there is a disturbing number of them. Our president should be held to the highest standards, both in word and in deed. Someone who makes as many mistakes as this man has no place running what is supposed to be the most powerful country in the world. Bush reformed taxes, giving a large amount of the cuts back to the ultra-wealthy. He has disregarded our environment, as well as laws that have been put into place to protect it time and again. He created a monster called No Child Left Behind which is likely to leave many children in our country even less educated than they are now. These are just a few examples of reasons not to vote for George Bush this November.
I ask you to ignore the words that our administration uses to describe it’s actions, and look at the actions they take. As they say, talk is cheap. Please do not go and vote for George Bush before really taking a look at what he has done to and for this country. In fact, I encourage you to vote for John Kerry. The third party doesn’t have a chance this time; The only way we are going to get Bush out of the White House is by replacing him with John Kerry. Please, look behind the attack campaigns, the commercials and newscasts designed to make our President look like the man that he should be. Don’t let the media fool you. Read his policies, not his descriptions of them. Look at who his investors are, and the decisions he makes. Be informed, and make your vote count.

I like President Bush's style and politics because he's a down home, straight shooter kind of guy, transparent and easy to figure out-rare traits in a politician these days.He will continue to do what he thinks is right regarding of his lack of popularity arond the world.

In spite of all the hatred, we remain the most forgiving nation on the planet. when eartquakes wreck lives and communities, we are there with blankets, water, search and rescue team. When countries are openly attacked, we are there to defend the people and help them take back their country. When a country is faced with famine, we are there to face down the warlords responsible-- those were Americans soldiers being dragged around the streets, and I'm repaid with a snicker from the North. Kosovo, Rwanda, we were there. Then came 9/11. The world saw the devastation that terror can bring, and it stood up and did nothing.

Let's be clear: at least Goerge W Bush stood up for what was right. I wish the same could be said with the negative commentors in this board. This constant anti-Americanism is mindless and i can't help but wonder if it's the final gasps of a nation that has lost its character and relevance.

We sit nice and cozy at home watching our favourite American reality shows, drive our American cars to our jobs at the American companies we work for, in order to pay for our vacations to florida or Las Vegas.Yet we think it's a good idea to keep telling Goerge W Bush and his government how much we hate them. We put them down for their enormous defence budget, yet we feel safe in our beds at night in the knowledge that they'll be there if anything should happen, but still put it down every chance we get.

It is enduring shame that other countries stood sneering on the sidelines (like Canada, Russia), content to let Saddam's torture and murder continue because we didn't like Bush's atitude. Oh, but can bid on the Iraq rebuilding contracts and make some money-please, oh, please, please, please

I couldn't stand to see a conservative get the last word in on this. As far as what has been argued so far, a lot of stupid things have been said. Perhaps the worst mistake people have made is believing that their opinion is the only correct opinion. Bush supporters (and not necessarily ALL Bush supporters but a great deal of them) tend to fall back on the same attacks against liberals, either they are uneducated, gay or pansies. Also many liberals have been told to that they should move to Iraq if they hate America. The worst thing this government has done to our population is to make it ok to hate anyone who has a different opinion. I admit that many liberals hate as well (I for example hate Bush but only because I see him as the greatest obstacle to my future). I'm not gay, I am a college educated man and I am certainly not a pansy. That being said, the things I can not stand about the Bush regime are its manipulation of the population and its use of fear to control the country. The difference between former presidents and the current president is that under former presidents the American dream seemed like a real thing. What I mean by that is that before Bush took power, it seemed like it was actually possible that you could achieve whatever you dreamed of; now with the worst defficit in history (the Bush regime has put a spin on this to make it seem like a good thing, do your research before you scream your opinion) nothing seems possible. Even middle class families are feeling the squeeze of hard times. Unemployment is at a high, poverty is at a high, the gap between poor and rich is widening all the time, the economy is in shambles, our national relations are all destroyed (besides England AKA USA Jr.) Nothing about the world makes sense anymore. Bush's fight against gay marriage (and don't try to tell me he supports it, he supported an amendment to ban gay marriage) is sickening. How he can knowingly deprive a certain segment of the population the basic rights that any other human being holds is beyond me. If you say homosexuality is a disease or that gay marriage will lead to the downfall of hetero marriage you are obviously and idiot. When was the last time that a Jew marrying a Christian caused all Christians to marry Jews? Since interracial marriage has been legal in the US has interracial marriage stopped white people from marrying other white people and black people from marrying other black people? Since gay marriage was legalized in MA has the state started implementing mandatory gay marriages. The nerve of straight people to stand up and deprive gays of the right to marriage while no gay spokesperson has ever spoken out against the right of staight people to marry amazes me. Those of you who say that the bible forbids homosexuality and therefore it should be banned may be correct that the Christian bible forbids homosexuality but not everyone in this country is a Christian and even moreso, we have such a thing as separation of church and state in this country. Just because the bible forbids something does not mean the government should make a law against it. I could argue forever against the many faults of our government and never convince some of you so let me make a few things clear. You are not more patriotic than me just because you cling to whatever the president says. You are not tougher than me just because your dad or friend or cousin is serving in Iraq. It is possible to support the troops and hate the commander in cheif; I don't want anyone in Iraq to die, I want the troops to be brought home now before another soldier dies, I would gladly walk up and shake the hand of a veteran of this war and thank him or her for his or her duty in protecting me. On the other hand, I want Bush out of office. I want him out now because if he serves another four years I do not know how much of America will remain. You might point out that I am lucky to have the freedoms to say what I have just said. This is true, I am lucky that the Bill of Rights exists and that the 1st Ammendment gives me the right to speak my mind freely. What I will point out though is that George W Bush did not write the Bill of Rights, he had nothing to do with it, he has nothing to do with my freedom to say these things. In fact, Bush worked actively in the days after 9/11 to revoke my right to criticize him. You can pick apart my spelling and grammar, you call me uneducated but that is a lie, I didn't see anyone calling the people who's only response was "O yea? U R A FAG!!!!!!1" uneducated although they certainly are.

I would like everyone who opposes Bush to actually go vote this year to remove the worst man ever to be in power in America. Do not listen to Bush supporters exploiting 9/11, exploiting Ronald Regan, exploiting any other tragedy they can get their hands on. Most of all, do not be afraid.
