Another article about the failure of the Segway goes to print and I can’t help but smirk thinking about the contrast between how the media talks about Segway now compared to when it was unveiled in 2002. Remember the hype? The cover of every magazine? Dean Kamen being the smartest smart guy ever? The media again missed the mark. No one cared.
I’m so tired of working late. I have a client who is having sporadic problems on their very large dataset, and working with it requires significant slowdowns, so I have to do it at night — I’ve complained about this before. Went to see My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult at Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale. A bunch of other bands were there; I mostly went to see Pigface. I think I wanted to relive my days of being an industrial-music-listening retard and outcast. It didn’t work out so I’m stuck being a retard and outcast without the industrial.
Pigface was one of the first industrial bands that I was really into. I still remember buying their “Gub” album at some lame Camelot in the mall.
I wasn’t too excited by the performances that I witnessed. A lot of the synthesizer element had been replaced by butch guitars and other stuff that kind of ruins the feeling for me.
